After a rough Saturday night, we didn't quite get around to having Easter on Sunday. So we colored eggs that night, careful not to tint the little princess. |
Monday morning Megan got her first bath. (She was smelling less than fresh.) Here she is before. |
Her hair curled up when Mom washed it. We're hoping it gets curly when it gets longer. |
As can be expected, the bath was a traumatic event for Megan. |
Once she was all clean, she didn't seem to mind as much. |
She seemed to really get into the spirit of it. |
Ready for lotion. |
All worn out after her bath, Megan decided to take a nap. |
Here is Melanie before the ordeal really began. Neither of us had any clue as to how the day would turn out. |
Everyone was very helpful and nice. Melanie had very friendly nurses helping her, and of course the epidural guy was great to have around. |
Just seconds old, the baby sits in the warmer while the nurse cleans her off. |
At just over 8 pounds, she is considerably smaller than either of her siblings were at birth. |
Reality is sinking in. It's a girl! |
Nathan gives his new sister a kiss. He still doesn't really understand that she's coming home to live with us. |
The boys are always excited to be up close and personal with babies. Little do they know... |
Ian just had to hold her. He is very tender and loving with the new arrival. |
We were lucky that we had Jan and Brian visiting to help take care of the boys during the delivery. Fringe benefit: being first on the scene. |
When he actually stopped running around to pay attention to the baby, Nathan was quite tender. |
After putting the boys to bed, Dad returned to the hospital just in time to take the baby back to the nursery for her vitals. Her temperature was just a tad low, so they put her in the tanning bed. |
No words can describe the shock, surprise, awe, and love that we feel for this newest member of our family. |
